About Rachel
My name is Rachel Ripley, and for the past 15 years, I’ve dedicated myself to helping students find their best college fit and succeed once they arrive on campus. My journey began as a tour guide at my alma mater, Tarleton State University, and advanced through roles as a graduate, transfer, and undergraduate admissions counselor at a variety of institutions. These experiences gave me an insider’s perspective on college admissions and the skills to guide students through every stage of the process. I have worked at a range of universities—in-state, out-of-state, public, private, large, small, STEM-focused, and liberal arts—giving me a broad understanding of higher education and the tools to help students identify what truly suits them.
In addition to high school college consulting, I provide college success coaching, offering individualized support to students navigating academics, course selection, time management, self-advocacy, accommodations, and the social and emotional challenges of college life. My background in academic advising at the collegiate level allows me to bridge the gap between college preparation and thriving in college, helping students not only get in—but succeed.
I believe the best college choice should align with a student’s academic, social, and financial needs, and I aim to make that process as personalized and manageable as possible. I work closely with both students and their families to demystify admissions, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities—ensuring they are engaged and informed every step of the way. With a master’s in Counseling Psychology and my experience as an Associate Director of Admissions and Director of College Counseling, I simplify what can be an overwhelming process and turn it into one that is strategic, empowering, and tailored to each student’s aspirations.
I’ve been and continue to be involved with several professional organizations, including DFW Admissions Regional Network (DARN), Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC), the Volunteer Committee with the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). My volunteer and leadership work has included serving as Chairperson and Treasurer, co-creating the Annual Colorado NACAC STEM Fair, presenting on college search strategies, and developing resources to support students and families nationwide. I was honored with the TACAC Founders’ Award in recognition of my commitment to advancing the counseling industry.
Living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I work with students across the U.S. through virtual meetings, tailoring my services to fit their unique needs. Last year alone, I guided 41 seniors in securing $9.25 million in scholarships—an average of $225,000 per student. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing students not only find the right college but thrive academically, socially, and personally, and I look forward to continuing to make that impact for years to come.
